Backyard Renovation:

On top is the before picture of our renovation project.  This project had an existing flagstone patio and large planting beds. We started by removing the existing hardscape and softscape.  Then we excavate the soil to the proper elevations. The soil is loaded onto dump trucks or dump trailers and hauled away.
DEMOLITION AND EXCAVATION .............................................................
FORMING, BASE ROCK AND REBAR ........................................................
After all utilities are installed (irrigation, drainage, water lines, gas, electrical, sewer, low voltage wire, conduits, sleeves, etc.) we begin the forming, base rock and rebar phase.

Wood forms held in place with wood stakes illustrate the borders of the patio.   It is vital that the forms are placed at the exact locations considering elevations and slope for drainage.  Lazar levels and tape measures are a vital part of the accuracy.

Base rock is installed at the proper depth and compacted using a plate compactor.  The rock is sprayed with water to increase our compaction and help settle the aggregates and soils.  Next we install our steel rebar 18" on center.  Dobies are installed to lift the steel into the center of the concrete.
